Star Trek- Prodigy Finds New Home On Netflix After Cancellation

The animated series Star Trek: Prodigy, previously canceled by Paramount+ during its second season production, has found a new home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has obtained the rights to both the previously aired Season 1 and has committed to airing the upcoming Season 2 once its production has concluded.

Star Trek: Prodigy “follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.” Season 1 is set to be available for streaming later this year, with Season 2 scheduled for release in 2024.

In June, Paramount+ abruptly canceled Prodigy, taking advantage of tax write-offs. This move was unexpected, given that the series was produced in-house by CBS Studios. Additionall…

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana celebrates grand opening

On Friday, the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana celebrated its grand opening. The $300 million casino opened its doors after a guitar smashing ceremony featuring members of the Jackson 5, Marlon, and Tito Jackson. The brothers call Gary home and were happy to be a part of the celebration.

Gary and the casino expect that business will increase as the new venue replaces the Majestic Star Casino, a riverboat gambling property that was in business for twenty-five years on the water.

New Hard Rock

Guests enter the new Hard Rock facility behind a huge guitar marquee, one that stands 37 feet tall. The guitar looks like one that was used by the Jackson 5 when they first started while living in Gary. The casino is home to many items of music memorabilia, wh…

New York Court of Appeals establishes local legality of daily fantasy sports

In a landmark decision and the New York Court of Appeals yesterday reportedly reversed an earlier decision to rule that daily fantasy sports are legal and do not violate the eastern state’s constitution.

According to a Tuesday report from the Associated Press news service, the determination reversed an appellate determination from 2020 that found daily fantasy sports breached New York’s constitutional ban on gambling. This earlier judgement purportedly came as a blow to prominent providers such as DraftKings Incorporated and FanDuel Group while putting the kibosh on a 2016 law that portrayed the activity as lawful because it provided for minimum standards, consumer safeguards and the registration, taxation and regulation of operators.

Age of Empires 2 gets some all-timer patch notes as it finally stops monks hiding in relics and dying when they drop them-

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition was released in 2019, and is as faithful a remaster of 1999’s Age of Empires 2 as you’ll get: To the extent it shares many of the original game’s beloved bugs and foibles. One that lay dormant for the longest time, however, was only discovered after a tournament last year. The excellently named Walhalla featured a game in which a player’s monk goes to return a relic to a monastery and, as he does so, keels over and dies.

Well, that doesn’t seem very godly. What is going on here, and is explained extremely well in the below video, is essentially a rounding error. A monk with a relic and a monk without a relic are in fact two different units and, when a monk picks up or drops the relic, the game switches between them and the unit’s hit points are …

96 core AMD Threadripper Pro 7000-series chips reportedly ready for launch on October 19-

AMD’s Threadripper Pro 7000-series CPUs are launching very soon. While they might not seem all that relevant to gamers—at least the high core count options anyway—I am very much an advocate for proper high-end desktop (HEDT) platforms and would love to see consumer level Threadripper make a return.

According to Wccftech, AMD plans to unveil Threadripper Pro CPUs on October 19th. These chips will be based on the Zen 4 architecture led by the range-topping 7995WX with 96 cores and 192 threads. Add to that 384MB of L3 cache and you’re looking at an absolute monster of a chip. Of course such a chip isn’t particularly relevant for gamers when most game engines struggle to make use of today’s 16-core AMD CPUs.

Even the 64-core 7985WX and and 32-core 7975WX chips …

It looks like you won’t be able to uninstall Recall, the controversial AI-assisted Windows 11 screen-capping feature, and I can’t say I’m too surprised

Despite all the backlash and security problems the upcoming Windows Recall feature has faced, it now looks like Microsoft won’t be giving users the option to uninstall it. That’s right, whether you use it or not, you’re not going to be able to rid your system of the feature.

While notes for a previous Windows update made it seem like Recall would be a feature that can be disabled, Microsoft has told The Verge that the way it was listed in these update notes was a “bug.”

The company states, “We are aware of an issue where Recall is incorrectly listed as an option under the ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ dialog in Control Panel,” and confirming, “This will be fixed in an upcoming update.”

For those unaware, Recall is a feature that’s meant to “help you f…
